Description
On August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment, guaranteeing women’s right to vote, became the law of the land. As this year’s members show will coincide with the anniversary of that momentous occasion, this call invites submissions for works that consider the struggles and victories we share in our communities, and our collective strength when we come together.
Reflecting on those histories and regarding our current moment in time, when technology is being used to keep us divided and isolated, and as social media deepens our loneliness and alienation from one another, this call imagines a space for us to come together to celebrate and honor what connects us through photography.
This juried open call invites submissions for work with a multitude of perspective and creative approaches, from documentary to conceptual, from commercial to fiercely personal attitudes. Selected works will be shown at an exhibition at LACP’s Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles.
Prizes
1st Place winner will receive $1,000; 2nd Place winner will receive a $500 LACP gift card; 3rd Place winner will receive $250 LACP gift card. Honorable Mentions: Other artists will receive honorable mentions and have their work shown with the winners in a in-person exhibition at LACP Headquarters opening on August 21st, 2025.
